SMOOOOCH....BAAAMMM!!!!

Let's face it there is always that one odd little duck in the bunch that will do anything to avoid getting kissed. As a little boy (or girl) they would run and hide under the bed from fat old Aunt Edna's juicy kisses and cheek pinches. As life progressed, they realized that Aunt Edna's kisses were unavoidable and accepted them with a soldier's grim determination. My brother is one such person, which is why I was so completely surprised when the news of his smooching accident reached me. John was working the Tig'rr roller coaster and got a little too involved while turning on the lights... Now the Tig'rr is a steel rolly coaster that basically makes a bunch of loops and goes about 25 fps, pretty lame if you ask me. The breaker box is located right next to the track and as it makes one of the loopy-dos. Unfortunately John decided to turn on the lights with the coaster car in motion like he and everyone else had done hundreds of times before. It seems that dear John in focused state did not notice how close he had edged to the track. A coaster car zoomed past John, hit him on the shoulder, spun him around in a circle and caused him to kiss the breaker box. It was a very powerful kiss. Let's just say that instead of going to work the next morning Johnny paid a visit to a friendly man in a white coat who likes to play with teeth. Needless to say John will think twice about kissing another wild animal....

A Little Something That Made Me Giggle

I saw the most amazing thing while driving down the street this afternoon. I was always under the impression that in order for a person to ride a motorcycle, they had to possess a certain air about them. You all know of what I speak, the stereotypical biker: greasy pony tail, leather jackets and of course the "tough guy" look permanently stamped upon the face. The man that I spied puttering down the street was not even remotely the biker type. He had to weigh at least 300 pounds, 5 foot 3 and about 65 years old. Thus far you may be wondering why this may seem so strange. Fear not, I have yet to describe the gentleman's darling outfit. He was wearing work boots, a long sleeved plaid shirt (buttoned all the way up) and denim overalls. I believe that there should a law against a motorcycle-overall combination. It totally shattered all illusions I had about motorcycle riders everywhere!!

Life is kinda funny sometimes...

It is the weird and random occurrences in life that make it sweet and the new experiences that add spice to an otherwise bland existence. This past week has thrown several of those odd little events right in my unsuspecting innocent little face. I do not remember the last time I have had such an entertaining week!

On Saturday, at my cousin's wedding reception I did something most appalling. I drank beer. That's right innocent naive little me had her first alcoholic beverage. I didn't drink very much at all, in fact it didn't even give me the slightest buzz. It wasn't very good either. I was actually quite disappointed in it's taste. I was expecting something a little stronger, but this was like drinking colored soda water. However my Uncle Tom told me that I should drink an entire bottle of dark beer and it would taste better than my measly thimble full of lukewarm Bud Light. By the by, my plot to catch the bouquet failed. My cousin (the bride's sister...hmmmmm sounds fishy to me too, the toss was probably rigged) caught the bouquet. However all hope is not lost. On Thursday night something happened to me that gave me renewed encouragement that I will not end up being an old maid with 53 cats and 9 parrots!! For the very first time, I was asked out on a date. I said no, but that's not the point. The point is that a nice guy thought I was something special. I don't think that I handled the situation very well at all. I was so incredibly surprised and had no previous experiences to draw upon in my time of need that I just repeated myself over and over again. It was so weird, random, and just well, weird, really weird! It was also disappointing in a way. When a girl is "asked out" for the first time, she really wants it to be someone that she really wants to ask her. It looks as though I have that experience yet to come. I do not think that I will handle it very gracefully when (and if) it comes because (shhhhh don't tell) guys scare me. On that note I need to go to bed because I working a double tomorrow and am already going to want to shoot myself in the morning!!
